Cleansed by the Blood of Jesus
One of our greatest advantages against the forces of sin is the Blood of Jesus. It is a mystery in heaven—according to the law, almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission (Heb. 9:22). But this remains the most unused weapon against the forces of sin. This dose attempts to shift our attention to the efficacy of the blood;
“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin” – 1 Jn 1:6-7.
The continuous cleansing power of the blood: if we read Hebrews 9 and Revelation 12, we’ll understand that the death of Jesus took place at the end of the world. Therefore, the blood speaks and is still speaking (Heb. 12:24)—and no sin is thicker than the blood.
With the cleansing power of the blood comes freedom from guilt: “How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God” – Heb. 9:14. Often, after sin is committed, what separates man from God is guilt rather than the sin itself (Gen. 3:10).
Also, the blood grants unhindered access to God’s grace: “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace”.
Finally, victory over Satan! “And they overcame him (the Devil) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives (nor renounce their faith even when faced with death)” – Rev. 12:11.
Now you know, it is time to apply the Blood! Or you don’t know how to?
