The Sun of Righteousness

SANCTIFIED - Jun. 14, 2026 3 MIN READ

We are living in those days, ‘The Great Day of the LORD '—days characterised by wrath, trouble, distress, emptiness, desolation, darkness, and gloominess. Zephaniah 1:14-15 vividly describes it as “a day of clouds and thick darkness.” These sombre descriptions mirror the current state of the nations of the earth, both economically and environmentally. Ezekiel 30:3 (NIV) echoes this reality: “For the day is near, the day of the LORD is near, a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations.” For instance, according to the International Labour Organisation (ILO), over 400 million full-time jobs were lost globally between April and June 2020—a stark reflection of the global gloominess. Yet, in the midst of this darkness, there is hope! Malachi 4:2 proclaims: “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and you shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.” Our lifeline in these challenging times is the fear of the Lord, which is true wisdom—an active knowledge of God and His Word. It is this wisdom that provides light in darkness, strength in weakness, and healing in the midst of brokenness.

“As many that violate the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits” – Dan. 11:32. Wait a minute, it’s not all doing exploits that are strong (sustainable); “Worry not thyself because of evildoers, neither be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb” – Psa. 37:1-2. Let them be fast and furious; slow and steady will surely outrun them. The true key to supernatural breakthroughs these days lies in access to divine secrets, which can be described as a Rain of Ideas.

“The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him and he will shew them his covenant” – Psa. 25:14. Every man or woman of exploits is a person of uncommon ideas—divine inspiration. There is a breach to repair, a path to find, a trail to blaze, and a pace to set. All these are accessible by the inspiration/empowerment of the Almighty (Job. 32:8).

“I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him: with whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him. The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him” – Psa. 89:20-22. It begins with the finding of a man. Can we be found?
