Beware! Lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:8-9).

Many still struggle to grasp the mystery of the Godhead. Amongst the many attributes of God, one that strikes the deepest awe in me is this: God is Omnipresent—present everywhere at every time simultaneously; i.e. God is not just everywhere; He is in every frame of time (second, minute, hour; past, present and future) at the same instance.

Not the best of examples, but those familiar with science-fiction movies, time travel, and speedsters might recall the concept of time remnants where a person can duplicate themselves across different fractions of time. The individual exists in several timelines yet remains themselves in every frame.

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” - 1 John 5:7. You've likely heard the expression, “It could only take the hand of God to bring to pass the Word of God”. Indeed, when God speaks, He acts to fulfil His word while maintaining the same eternal position and divine disposition as when He spoke.

When God could find none greater by whom to swear, He swore by Himself — the Word.

“For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he swore by himself… For men verily swear by the greater, an oath for confirmation is to them end of all strife. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath. That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie” (Hebrews 6:16-18).

God the Father is Truth: “He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity (Deuteronomy 32:4)”.

God the Word is Truth: “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth (John 17:17)”.

God the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth: “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth (John 16:13)”.

It is religion, not revelation, that taught us to emphasise “in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” as though it implies a hierarchy or chronological order. But when the Apostle Paul addressed the church in Corinth, he referenced the Godhead without a specific order; he wrote, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all (2 Corinthians 13:14)”. No hierarchy, no array! God is One! Yet diverse in administration.

He is not called the Son of God by reason of birth but nomenclature, according to character and assignment—the Messenger and express embodiment of the Word—sent forth to declare, demonstrate, and deliver the will of the Father. “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds (Hebrews 1:1-2)”.

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the Word of his Grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
