Shine Your Light

THE LAST-DAY ARMY - Jun. 17, 2026 3 MIN READ

Arise! Shine! For your light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon you, and his glory shall be seen upon you. And the Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising (Isa. 60:1-3).

The solution to darkness is light; light is in intensities, and the dominion of light over darkness is instant and unquestionable. For the purpose of this discussion, Scripture allows us to observe three dimensions in which light operates: the Light of Life, enlightenment and luminance.

The Light of Life: “Jesus spoke again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life” – Jn. 8:12. This is the One true Light that lights every man coming to this world (Jn. 1:9), which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. To those who sleep, arise from the dead: Christ gives you light! (Eph. 5:14) As I iterated earlier, light is in intensities; therefore, we must increase our capacity for light.

Enlightenment: “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know…” – Eph. 1:17-18. With information comes emancipation; we are a product of the information we have access to. Every successful individual/organisation is built on intelligence. This is why many (even Christians) are affected by the “gross darkness” of these days: lack of relevant information. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” – Hosea 4:6.

Luminance: “Then I saw that wisdom excels folly as light excels darkness” – Eccl. 2:13. The beauty of light is in its shining. Jesus said, “No one lights a candle and puts it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; that it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven” – Matt. 5:13-14. The way to escape the ‘gross darkness’ is to shine your light—which is the application of the knowledge and revelation in our quiver.

When these three are well in place, then the glory comes—“ I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD. The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the LORD. The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house” - Haggai 2:7-9. The glory is not for lazy Christians but for doers of the works; these men shall be blessed in all their deeds.
