1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”), also referred to as the Word Intelligence Terms & Conditions, form a binding agreement between you and Word Intelligence concerning your access to and use of wordintel.org, its account system, newsletters, comments and related services (together, the “Service”).

By accessing the Service, creating an account, signing in with an email and password, continuing with Google or Microsoft, submitting content or using an interactive feature, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Where you do not agree, do not create an account or use the interactive parts of the Service. You may still leave the website.

2. The Service

Word Intelligence is a Christian editorial and community platform. The Service may include articles, devotional and educational content, categories, search, comments, reactions, newsletters, account features and administrative publishing tools.

Features may change over time. Some functions may require an account, verified email, specific role or recent identity verification.

3. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms. Account registration and interactive features are intended for people aged 18 or older. A person under 18 may use an interactive feature only with valid parent or legal-guardian consent and appropriate supervision, and only where permitted by applicable law.

By creating or using an account, you represent that the information you provide is truthful and that your use of the Service is not prohibited by law or by any valid restriction previously imposed by Word Intelligence.

4. Accounts and security

You are responsible for activity carried out through your account and for maintaining the security of your password, email account, Google account, Microsoft account and devices. Use accurate account information, choose a strong and unique password where applicable, and do not share authentication credentials.

Notify us promptly at hello@wordintel.org if you believe your account has been compromised. We may require email verification or reauthentication before allowing sensitive actions.

Account roles and permissions are assigned by Word Intelligence. Creating an account does not grant publishing, moderation or administrative rights.

5. Google and Microsoft sign-in

You may choose to authenticate through Google or Microsoft. By selecting either option, you authorise that provider to confirm your identity and provide the limited account information described in our Privacy Policy.

You must use a provider account you are authorised to control. You may not use another person’s identity or attempt to connect a provider account to a Word Intelligence account you do not own.

Google and Microsoft are independent third parties. Their services, security checks, availability and account rules are governed by their own terms and policies. Word Intelligence does not receive or control your provider password.

Removing Word Intelligence from your Google or Microsoft account can prevent future provider authentication but does not, by itself, delete your Word Intelligence account or content. Contact us to request deletion.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to:

• break any applicable law or assist unlawful conduct;
• impersonate another person, misrepresent affiliation or use a false identity to deceive others;
• harass, threaten, exploit, defame or unlawfully discriminate against another person;
• post obscene, hateful, violent, sexually exploitative or otherwise seriously harmful material;
• upload malware, attempt unauthorised access, probe security, disrupt the Service or bypass technical restrictions;
• collect, scrape or use personal data from the Service without a lawful basis and our written permission;
• send spam, manipulate engagement, automate abusive requests or overload the Service;
• infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, confidentiality or any other right; or
• use content or accounts in a way that could reasonably damage Word Intelligence, its users or third parties.

Reasonable search-engine indexing and ordinary sharing of public article links are permitted. Systematic extraction, republication or commercial exploitation requires prior written permission.

7. Comments and other user content

You retain ownership of original material you submit. By submitting comments, replies or other content to the Service, you grant Word Intelligence a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, display and distribute that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, promote, secure and improve the Service.

You represent that you have the rights needed to submit the content and that it complies with these Terms. Do not submit confidential, highly sensitive or unnecessary personal information in public comments.

Comments may be held for moderation. We may approve, refuse, edit for formatting, hide or remove content that violates these Terms, presents legal or safety risk, is irrelevant, misleading, abusive, promotional or otherwise unsuitable for the community. We are not obliged to publish every submission.

8. Editorial, devotional and faith content

Word Intelligence content is provided for general Christian editorial, devotional, educational and informational purposes. It reflects the perspectives of its authors and is not a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, legal, financial or other regulated advice.

Scripture references, interpretations and opinions should be read thoughtfully and, where appropriate, discussed with qualified professionals, trusted church leaders or other suitable advisers. You remain responsible for decisions made based on the content.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, its design, branding, logo, original articles, graphics, code and other materials are owned by or licensed to Word Intelligence and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.

You may access and share public article links for personal, non-commercial purposes. Unless a page expressly permits it, you may not reproduce, republish, sell, modify, remove attribution from or create a competing database from substantial parts of the Service without written permission.

Third-party names, logos, scriptures, quotations, images and other materials remain subject to the rights and permissions of their respective owners.

10. Newsletters and communications

Newsletter subscription is optional. Where you subscribe, we may send confirmation messages, Word Intelligence updates and related editorial communications. You may unsubscribe through the link in a newsletter or by contacting us.

Essential account, verification, security and transactional messages are not marketing communications and may still be sent while an account remains active.

11. Third-party services and links

The Service relies on and may link to third parties, including Google, Microsoft, Namecheap, Cloudinary, Resend, Zoho and external websites or content providers. Their products and websites are controlled by them and governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

A link or integration does not necessarily mean Word Intelligence endorses every statement, product or practice of the third party. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion. We may restrict, suspend or terminate access; remove content; or preserve relevant records where we reasonably believe this is necessary to:

• enforce these Terms;
• protect security, rights or safety;
• respond to unlawful, abusive or fraudulent conduct;
• comply with law or a valid authority request; or
• discontinue an account or feature.

Where reasonably appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to clarify the issue. Immediate action may be taken for serious security, legal or safety risks.

13. Availability and changes to the Service

We aim to keep the Service available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or permanent operation. The Service may be unavailable during maintenance, provider outages, security work or events beyond our reasonable control.

We may add, change, limit or discontinue features, content or account functionality. Where a change materially affects users, we will provide reasonable notice when practicable.

14. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not make an absolute warranty that every article, link, feature or third-party service will always be complete, current, secure or error-free.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability arising from fraud, wilful misconduct or any mandatory consumer or data-protection right.

Subject to that restriction, Word Intelligence will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of or inability to use the Service where such loss was not reasonably foreseeable or was caused by matters outside our reasonable control.

You are responsible for backing up information you need and for independently evaluating important decisions. These limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without prejudice to any mandatory right you may have under another applicable law.

Before starting formal proceedings, you and Word Intelligence should attempt in good faith to resolve the issue through written communication. Unresolved disputes may be submitted to a court of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria, subject to applicable law.

16. Changes to these Terms and contact

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, security practices, providers or law. The updated version will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date. Where a material change affects existing account holders, we will provide reasonable additional notice when appropriate.

Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms means you accept the updated Terms. Where you do not agree, stop using the Service and request account closure where applicable.
