The Seed Who Crushed the Serpent

JESUS - Jul. 03, 2026 3 MIN READ

“But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons” (Gal. 4:4-5). Many might have thought to ask, “Why was Jesus born in the time he was born?” It’s described in the above passage as ‘the fullness of time’; prior to this time, God had spoken in diverse manners through the prophets and things created (Hebrews 1:1). These little fractions of knowledge in sundry times contributed bit by bit till the fullness of time.

Well, that is one way to portray it, but He, being Alpha Omega—the one who knows the beginning from the end and holds the wheel of time in His hands (He changes the times and the seasons – Dan. 2:21) orchestrated His coming at a time that would best illustrate His government (Isa. 9:6-7) from the Roman Empire. “Of the increase of his government and peace, there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever”.

He already preempted the fall of man from the foundation of the world. “You were not redeemed with corruptible things… but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you – 1 Peter 1:18-20. Also, the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8) and again, at the end of the world (Hebrews 9:26). Therefore, His ultimate purpose is not to return us to our Eden state but to establish the Kingdom of the dear Son.

Satan had already lost on earth as much as he lost in heaven, but he knew he had a short time to deceive men (Revelations 12:11-12). After his presumed major victory (the fall of Adam) in Genesis chapter 3, God said, “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall crush your head, and you shall bruise His heel" (Genesis 3:15). That ‘Seed’ (capital singular) is JESUS. The fulfilment is reflected in 1 Corinthians 2:8, “Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have (bruised His heel) crucified the Lord of glory”. Because, “Having spoiled (crushed his head) principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it” - Colossians 2:15. This was the first of many pointers to the coming, government and reign of the KING OF KINGS.
